Gerald Crone

Hastings resident, Gerald I. Crone, 84, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, February 6, 2016; 10:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Morrison Cancer Center. Book signing will be Thursday, February 4, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Friday, February 5, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Gerald was born May 13, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska to Ivan G. & Javene Z. (Webber) Crone. He attended Hastings High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. Gerald married Sherrill Frieden on January 16, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley, Nebraska. He worked as an optician at Crone Optical. Gerald was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and American Legion in Hastings.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Doris (Herman) Scheideman, Dorothy (Norman) Blunt, Jeanine Crone, and Peggy (Ellis) Douglas.
