Gerald Hoyt

Hastings resident, Gerald C. "Jerry" Hoyt, 87, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Edgewood Vista, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Steve Randolph officiating. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017; 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with family present, and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Jerry was born November 13, 1929 in Fairfield, Nebraska to Alfred & Reka (Lindeman) Hoyt. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1947. Jerry served in the U.S. Marines from 1951 to 1952. He married Sharon Elaine Deines on October 24, 1965. Jerry owned and operated OK Tire Store from 1963 to 1970. He was a rancher in Royal, Nebraska until his retirement.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Hoyt; and two sisters, Leahdele Cassel and Patricia Shivvers.
