Hastings resident, Gerald Donovan McLane, 75, of 1345 Pershing Road, died Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Thursday, July 7, 2005; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Frank Kerkemeyer & Rev. Art Schakat officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations and Masonic Rites by Masonic Lodge 317 A.F. & A.M. will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. McLane was born July 22, 1929 in Lexington, Nebraska to Marjorie M. Crisman. He graduated from Hastings High School, Hastings, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Army Ordinance on August 2, 1952. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from August 2, 1952 to December 8, 1953. On October 24, 1959, he married Shirley A. Rutt in Hastings, Nebraska. He owned McLane Jewelry, where he was a certified master watch maker, retiring in 1982. He volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol. On July 22, 1989, he retired as a Colonel from the Army Reserve. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge 317 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite and Tehama Shrine.
Mr. McLane was preceded in death by his mother.
