In his retirement, he enjoyed almost daily trips to the Hastings Library and swimming at the YMCA. Music was important to him; he sang and played his guitar at every opportunity. Jerry enjoyed being a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society in Kearney and Papillion, and most recently, as a member of the Hastings Chorus of the Plains. He was a big supporter of Hasting College Broncos and St. Cecilia Bluehawks. He deeply cherished his family, including his many nieces and nephews.
