Hastings resident, Geraldine E. Parr, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Friday, April 7, 2017; 7:00 P.M. and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 8, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at Assumption Catholic Church, Assumption with Father Jonathan Haschke officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Renovation Fund. Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Friday, April 7, 2017; 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and Friday, April 7, 2017; 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to service on Saturday at the church.
Geraldine was born September 2, 1925 in Juniata, Nebraska to John Sr. & Theresa (Hemberger) Loskill. She graduated from Roseland High School and married Leonard A. Parr on February 15, 1944 at Assumption Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2007.
Geraldine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society, and Sacred Heart Quilters Club in Roseland. She was a board member for American Red Cross for 23 years and volunteered for Catholic Social Services for many years.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard A. Parr; son, Lynn; two infant children; great granddaughter - Gabrielle Parr; twin sister, Bernadine Riese; and siblings, Lavern Loskill, Marie Klein, Edward Loskill, Hilda Loskill, Teresa Streff, John Loskill Jr., and Marilyn Schumm.
