Gertrude Detter

Hastings resident, Gertrude M. (Maria) Detter, 95, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010; 2:00 P.M. at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, in Hastings with Rev. Steven Peeler officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 24, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - noon at Butler- Volland Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to service at the Church. Memorials may be given to the family.

Gertrude was born September 2, 1914 in LeRoy, Kansas to Herman & Alice (Trauernicht) Loschen. She came to Glenvil, Nebraska in 1925. She married Jacob Detter on January 17, 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1987. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1943. Here she worked as a clerk for twelve years in various grocery stores, at Ray's Pizza and the Hastings Regional Center. After retiring she cleaned for a number of friends and baby sat.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob Detter; six brothers; and six sisters.
