Gladys Brooks

Former Juniata resident, Gladys Irene Brooks, 96, of Blue Hill Care Center, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, November 1, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Tom Murray & Rev. Gayle Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, Nebraska at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, November 1, 2003.

Gladys Irene Brooks was born November 26, 1906 in Edgar, Nebraska to Stephen & Sadie (Peterson) Beck. She graduated from Edgar High School, Edgar, Nebraska. She married Harry Brooks in Mankato, Kansas on May 1, 1924. He preceded her in death in 1981. They moved from Edgar, Nebraska to Juniata, Nebraska in 1938. She worked at Hesteds from 1960 to 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of Juniata Community Church, Women's Fellowship & Missionary at the church and Sunshine Homemaker's Club, all of Juniata, Nebraska.

Gladys Irene Brooks was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, Infant twin sons, one sister and three brothers.
