Glen Marshall

April 7, 1921 — November 27, 2004

Hastings resident, Glen Earl Marshall, 83, of 2713 W. 3rd, died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Tuesday, November 30, 2004; 8:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 1, 2004; 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Marshall was born April 7, 1921 in Beaver City, Nebraska to Earl R. & Fern L. (Ventling) Marshall. He graduated from Beaver City High School in 1939. He was a Yeoman 1st Class in the United States Navy during WWII from September 5, 1942 until May 7, 1946. On August 4, 1946 he married Mary Petti in Bayonne, New Jersey. He graduated from Kearney State Teachers College in 1948 and received his Master's Degree from Colorado A.& M. in 1952. He taught in Precept, Nebraska for 2 years. He taught industrial education at Hastings Senior High School for 38 years and was department head for 21 years. He was the Nebraska State Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year in 1968. He was past president of Hastings Education Association and received the American Industrial Arts Association Teacher Recognition Program Award in 1968 - 1969. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and bowled on the Butler-Volland bowling team. He was a past member of the Lions Club and a professional photographer for 30 years.

Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Marshall.
