Glenda Dee Carsten

Glenda Dee Carsten, 82, known as “Dee” to many, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2024, in Denver, CO. She was born October 28, 1941, in Hastings, NE to Glenn and DeNeese (Rader) Haggard. She married Roger Carsten on October 9, 1981, in Lincoln, NE.

Dee’s career included working in hospital business offices, company executive offices, and banking before retiring from gloProfessional, a Denver cosmetic company. She enjoyed working in the church, holding several positions, including that of an Elder & Deaconess. In addition, Dee volunteered at the Tennyson Home for Children and served on the Denver Dinner Committee. She also volunteered with the Tamarac Optimist group and the Samaritan Purse shoe box ministry.

Being with family and friends was a true delight for Dee, and helping children was very rewarding.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & DeNeese Haggard; husband, Roger Carsten; daughter, Stacy Sellers; and brother, Rollin Haggard.

She is survived by her step-children: James Carsten, of Thornton, CO and Angela (Mike) McDonald, of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Danielle (Dylan) Schumacher, McCook, NE, Ian (Clara) McDonald, Denver, CO, and Kelsey McDonald, College Station, TX, great-grandchildren: Talan, Torryn, and Banks Schumacher, McCook, NE and Briar McDonald, Denver, CO; son-in-law, Paul Sellers; and brother-in-law, Bruce (Barbara) Carsten, Cortland, NE. Dee is also survived by other extended family members: Rick (Sandy) Rhoadarmer, Greensboro, GA, Sandra (Brad) Sturgeon, Phoenix, AZ, Carol (Greg) Kokes, Lincoln, NE, and Pamela (Glen) Thummel, Lincoln, NE; and nieces, cousins & friends.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in the Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull, NE, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Roger R. Carsten. Dee has requested that memorial donations be given to Covenant Presbyterian DTC https://www.covenantdtc.org/give or Tennyson Center for Children https://www.tennysoncenter.org/donate
