Former Hastings resident, Grace G, Saathoff, 90, of Firth, Nebraska, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Lakeview Rest Home, Firth, Nebraska.
Services will be Saturday, July 14, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Steven Kahrs of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cortland, Nebraska officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, rural Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, 1 P.M. - 9 P.M. with family present from 7 P.M.- 9 P.M. & Saturday, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be designated at a later date.
Mrs. Saathoff was born February 9, 1917 in Macon, Nebraska to Lammert & Anna (Saathoff) Frerichs. She married Reemt Saathoff on March 31, 1940 in Hildreth, Nebraska. They lived and farmed southeast of Hastings until moving into Hastings in 1986. She was a homemaker and a cook at Hastings College. Reemt passed away on March 20, 1991. Grace moved to Firth in January of 2006 and lived there in her own home until the Lord called her home.
Mrs. Saathoff was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reemt; infant son; brother John Frerichs of Aberdeen, South Dakota.
