Grover Colter

September 11, 1915 — February 26, 2004

Hastings resident, Grover E. 'Curley' Colter, 88, of The Kensington # 513, 233 N. Hastings, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 at his home.

Services will be Thursday, March 4, 2004; 10:00 A.M.at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Judith Allen officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Colter was born September 11, 1915 in Cove Creek, Arkansas, to Frank & Flora (Rush) Colter. He served in the United States Army during WWII from November 18, 1938 to October 20, 1945 and was in North Africa. He married Helen Meyer on January 10, 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1994. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the civil service. He moved to Hastings, Nebraska from Las Vegas, Nevada in 1969. He was a painter for Rose Reality. He married Katherine Archer on September 23, 1995. He was a member of American Legion Post 11, D.A.V. Chapter 9, Masonic Lodge #50, Scottish Rites and Tehama Shrine.

Mr. Colter was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen and several brothers & sisters.

Tues. 3-2-04; 9am-9pm Wed. 3-3-04; 9am-9pm Thur. 3-4-04; 9am until service time
