Harold Douglas

Hastings resident, Harold A. Douglas, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, April 16, 2016; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Book signing will be Friday, April 15, 2016; 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Harold was born May 15, 1923 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Guy William & Mary A. (Novak) Douglas. He graduated from Campbell High School. Harold married Dorothy V. Benson on October 8, 1944 in Upland, Nebraska. He farmed for a short time then started working as a meat cutter in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska where he owned his own meat locker. He was employed at Safeway and Allen's in Hastings. Harold was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and camping groups including, The Fun Finders and National Campers & RVers. He loved spending time going to the YMCA, gardening, woodworking, camping, golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and sister & spouse, Gertrude & Roy Meyer.
