Harold A. Haase, 82, of 304 E. 2nd Street, died Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Friday, November 30, 2001; 1:30 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, 7th & Hastings, Hastings, Nebraska with Dr. Sam Rathod officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Harold A. Haase was born June 18, 1919 in Garland, Nebraska to Adolph E. & Ida M. (Hartman) Haase. He moved with his family to Hastings, Nebraska as a young boy and graduated from Hastings High School in 1939. He worked for Nash-Finch Company and entered the United States Army on December 5, 1942. He served in the European Theater as a heavy truck driver with the 'Red Ball Express'. After his discharge on December 8, 1945, he returned to Nash-Finch Company. On November 2, 1947, he married Alice M. Bayles in Hastings, Nebraska. From 1951-1981, he was a switchman for Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a member and past trustee at First United Methodist Church, V.F.W. #1346, Eagles, Arid Society, Burlington Northern Oldtimers and a 50 year member of U.T.U.
Harold A. Haase was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Rheinold, Edward, Richard, Gerhardt and Hugo Haase and a sister, Valeska Lingelbach.
