Harold Hahn, 83, of 1214 Westridge Dr., died Monday, February 3, 2003 at his home.
Services with Masonic Rites will be Friday, February 7, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Judith Allen officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Harold Hahn was born November 9, 1919 in Hastings, Nebraska to Philip & Margaret
(Eckhardt) Hahn. He graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1937. In December of 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the 235th Combat Engineer Battalion during WWII. He served in North Africa, Naples, Italy and the Philippines, where he received a Distinguished Unit Citation, a Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and two Purple Hearts. He graduated from Hastings College in 1948 and on August 20, 1949, he married Florence Patterson in Hastings, Nebraska. He also served during the Korean War from September of 1950 until November of 1951, when he was medically retired. He was President of Hahn & Hupf Construction Company from 1968 until 1986. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Masons-Hastings Lodge #50, Hastings Scottish Rite, Tehama Temple, Tehama Clowns, Tehama Sandheaters, Eastern Star, Royal Order of the Jesters and he served as Chairman of the Shrine Circus for ten years.
Harold Hahn was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two sisters, one brother and one son, Timothy Hahn.
