Hastings resident Harold J. Hilger, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his home.
Memorial service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller. Memorials may be given to the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Harold was born November 8, 1933, in Meire Grove, MN to John & Marie (Peters) Hilger. He married Violet Severance; they later divorced. Harold married Helen (Ehrman) Koger on May 2, 1983; she preceded him in death on September 27, 2015.
Harold was employed at Metz Bakery where he later retired. He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Harold lived on “The Peony Farm” outside of Trumbull. He loved gardening, his fruit trees, going for walks, building bird houses, furniture, and rocking horses, and enjoyed traveling with Helen.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen Hilger; daughter, Veronica Hamik; brother, Eddie; and sisters, Helen and Florence.
