Harold Hurst

Born January 2, 1932 to Fredrich and Katherine Hurst in rural Adams County. Graduated from Hastings High School in 1949, attended Hastings College, served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954, married Carol Kious in 1956. Harold enjoyed a 30 + year career as Operations Manager of Consolidated Motor Freight. After his retirement he worked as a Court Officer for the Adams County Sheriff's Office for several years.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters and sons-in law: Craig and Rebecca Marble, Michael and Virginia Zeckser, Jeffrey and Patricia Wissing. ; Sister and Brother-in-law Bill and Helen French of Upland California, Bother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Linda Shearer of Truckee California, sisters-in-law Geraldine Hurst of Hastings and Kathy Hill of Trumbull, NE, grandchildren , Jon Jacobi, Katy Jacobi-Al-Refaey, Megan Marble-Kaup, Eric Marble, Jeff and Leslie Zeckser, Beau, Paige and Ben Wissing, and one great-grand child, Adam Al-Refaey and several nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Frank Hill, 5 brothers including Harry Hurst of Hastings, 2 sisters and his parents.

The remains will be cremated. There will be a celebration of life and family visitation on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Marble home, 5640 N. First Ave.in the Thom Subdivision from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Arrangements were made at the direction of the deceased.
