Harold Joiner

Harold E. Joiner, 76, of 507 Lane A, died Friday, October 26, 2001 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, October 30, 2001; 9:00A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Dale Phillips officiating. Burial with military rites will be 1:00 P. M. in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.

Harold Edward Joiner, was born September 22, 1925 in Mill Spring, Missouri to William Albert & Nora Gladys (Weber) Joiner. He graduated from High School in Mill Spring, Missouri. On March 29, 1947, he married Violet Mae LaBruyere. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1983. He served as a Frogman in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1945. He began as a foreman at Douglas & Lomason Company in Dearborn, Michigan. In July of 1960, he opened and became manager of the Douglas & Lomason plant in Marianna, Arkansas. In July of 1965 Douglas & Lomason moved him to Columbus, Nebraska to open and manage a plant. On August 15, 1971 he became executive vice-president and general manager of Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus, Nebraska. In March of 1978 he retired as President of Behlen Manufacturing and as Vice-President of Wickes Corporation. In May of 1978 he went to work for Wedgcor Steel in Denver, Colorado. In January of 1981 he retired as the President and CEO of Wedgcor Steel, Denver, Colorado. He was a member of V.F.W. Marianna Lodge #171, Marianna, Arkansas. He was a past member of the masons in Columbus, Nebraska.

Harold E. Joiner was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Violet, and 2 sisters, Wilma and Bertie. .
