Hastings resident, Harold Lee Kissell, 81, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at home.
Services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Loren Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Harold was born in Woodruff, Kansas to Thomas and Maude Kissell on November 7, 1931. After he graduated, he moved to Hastings with his mother. Later he enlisted and went into the Navy and served from 1950 to 1954. Harold was stationed in the Philippines during the Korean War. Then in 1965, he joined the Hastings Police Department where he served for 20 years, the last five years he served as a Sergeant. Harold retired in 1986. After retiring from the Police Department, he worked for A-1 Construction, Napa Auto Parts delivering parts, and many years with Don Kloppenburg doing construction. He was married to Glendoris Lindemann-Hall on August 16, 1968. Harold was an avid fisherman.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Raymond, Kenneth, Dale, and "Buddy"; and one sister, Helen.
