Hastings resident, Harold Paul Knaub, 86, of 1911 Bateman, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Monday, February 6, 2006; 9:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Knaub was born August 6, 1919 in Hastings, Nebraska to Henry & Katy (Kautz) Knaub. He graduated from Hastings High School and played Junior Legion Baseball. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from May 20, 1944 until March 14, 1945. He married Bernadine Frasier on June 4, 1939 and she preceded him in death on June 25, 1995. He was a life long Hastings resident and a self employed carpet layer. He was a member of the old South St. Paul's Lutheran Church, American Legion and a life time member of D.A.V., V.F.W. and the Elks. He enjoyed fishing and was a throat cancer survivor.
Mr. Knaub was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernadine; brother, Rev. Henry Knaub and a sister, Rose Horton.
