Hastings resident Harold G. McKibben, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to Hastings Museum, Central Nebraska Veterans Home, or donor’s choice. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Harold was born July 17, 1926, in Grand Island, NE to Lawrence & Lottie (Franklin) McKibben. He graduated from Grand Island High School. Harold married Lou Palmer in 1970; she preceded him in death on May 26, 2010.
Harold began his trucking career at McKibben Transfer in Grand Island and he later moved to Hastings where he worked for CMF for 34 years until his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Eagles, Retired Teamsters, and NRA.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lou McKibben; brothers and spouses, Leonard & Mildred McKibben and Neal & Marian McKibben; sister and spouse, Betty & Robert Franz; and two nephews, Jerry McKibben & Barry Franz.
