Harry Mulliner

Former Hastings resident, Harry Robert 'Bob' Mulliner, 87, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 in Custer, South Dakota.

Services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2007; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2007; 6pm-9pm, Tuesday, June 19, 2007; 9am-9pm with family present 6pm-8pm & Wednesday 1 hr. prior to service all at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.

Mr. Mulliner was born September 23, 1919 to Harry M. & Lillian (Hall) Mulliner in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from June 18, 1942 until December 5, 1945 as a naval aviator. On June 12, 1944, he married Renae Eldora 'Dora' Raybon in Pensacola, Florida and she preceded him in death in 1980. After his discharge, he returned to Nebraska to farm with his brother, Dick, near Bertrand, Nebraska from 1946 until 1952. He moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1955 and worked at T-L Irrigation with the original owners for a short time. He was an irrigation engineer for the University of Nebraska, retiring in 1975. He moved to Pickstown, South Dakota in 1975 and to Custer, South Dakota in 2002. He was married to Jean (Walker) Mulliner from 1987 until 2001. He was a past member & elder at First Christian Church in Hastings and attended Living Outreach Church in Custer. He was also a member of Aircraft Owners Pilots Association, Ducks Unlimited and NRA. He was granted a professorship after 30 years of service as a federal employee from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Mr. Mulliner was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dora & a daughter, Barbara Horton.
