Hastings resident, Helen Frickey, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at her home.
Services will be Monday, March 14, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings with Rev. Marcus J. Mackay officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2011; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, March 13, 2011; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to Crossroads Rescue Mission or Peace Lutheran Church. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
Helen was born December 16, 1919 in Glenvil, Nebraska to John & Anna (Saathoff) Fredricks. She was baptized on January 14, 1920 and confirmed on April 24, 1932 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, Nebraska. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School. On September 27, 1952 she married Lleland (Bud) Frickey in Colorado. She worked approximately 29 years of civil service for the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hastings, Sioux Army Depot in Sidney, and the Cornhusker Ammunition Plant in Grand Island. She was involved with Sunday school and confirmation classes as a teacher. Helen and Lleland spent winters in Texas for 13 years. She loved piecing quilts and playing cards.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one nephew and two great-nieces.
