Helena 'Lena' Onken, 96, of Perkins Pavilion, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, Nebraska with interim ministers Bonnie & Les Larsen officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska.

Helena 'Lena' Onken was born May 29, 1905 in Glenvil, Nebraska to Klaus & Helena (Jansen) (Saathoff) Hinrichs. She was baptized on July 30, 1905 and confirmed on April 9, 1922 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Glenvil, Nebraska by Rev. C. Goede. She attended country school, District #51, Glenvil, Nebraska. She married John F. Onken on November 6, 1925 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Glenvil, Nebraska and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, Nebraska. She was a Sunday School teacher and a Circle member of Immanuel. She was an Avon representative and enjoyed playing cards, gardening and flowers, yard work, crocheting and working puzzles and traveling.

Helena 'Lena' Onken was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John F. Onken, daughter Karen Hinrichs, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
