Henry Meyer

August 26, 1912 — March 10, 2007

Hastings resident, Henry B. Meyer, 94, formerly of the Village Green, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Thursday, March 15, 2007; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Ron Reed officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday 9AM - 9PM at the funeral home. Memorials to Perkins Pavilion - Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska or a charity of choice.

Mr. Meyer was first born of twin sons to John Albert & Emma Amelia (Brader) Meyer on August 26, 1912 in Hastings, Nebraska. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1930 and went to work for Ford New Holland, building thrashing machines & farm implements. Later he worked for Ford Motors, as a mechanic, fixing early cars & trucks. In 1952, he went to work at Hastings Utilities, as an equipment operator, retiring in 1979. Henry married Alice A. Jones on March 1, 1941 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They spent their whole married life in Hastings, recently celebrating their 66th anniversary. Henry enjoyed tinkering, collecting antiques, and helping out at Lightner's Auction. He delighted in visits from his much loved grandchildren & great-grandchildren, especially twin great grandsons, Greg & John.

Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Johnnie and sisters, Marguerite & Amelia.
