Hermina Stromer

Hermina Stromer, 92, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, October 22, 2014; 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, west of Glenvil, Nebraska, with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, west of Glenvil. Memorials may be given to Hermina Stromer Memorial Fund. Visitation will be Monday, October 20, 2014; 4 P.M. - 7 P.M. and, Tuesday, October 21, 2014; 1 P.M. - 7 P.M. with family present 5P.M. - 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Hermina was born April 15, 1922 to Wessel and Grace (Memmen) Murman in Stickhausen, Germany. The family moved to Glenvil, Nebraska when Hermina was one year old. She graduated from Glenvil High School. Hermina married Reemt W. Stromer in Glenvil on March 15, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2010. She worked for Debus Bakery in Hastings, and was a seamstress for seven years for Mode O'Day. She also worked as a custodian and in food service for the Glenvil School. Hermina was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Church Women and an extension club.

Hermina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reemt; brother, Menno Murman; sisters, Freida Ocker and Mary Lou Harms; brother-in-law Erwin Ocker; and son-in-law, Darwin Kempf.
