Hilda Katherine Noel, 95, of Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, Nebraska, died Sunday, October 14, 2001 at Harvard Rest Haven.
Services will be Thursday, October 18, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Carl W. Utley officiating. Burial will be Friday, October 19, 2001; 2:30 P.M. in Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, Kansas.
Hilda K. Noel was born January 6, 1906 in Independence, Iowa to Edward C. & Lillian B. (Schwartz) Wolters. She graduated from Waukon High School, Waukon, Iowa and from Hastings College, Hastings, Nebraska. She did graduate work at Kearney State College, now University of Nebraska at Kearney, Nebraska and also at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Edward C. Beale, July 18, 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1948. She moved to Hastings, Nebraska from Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee in 1948 and was an elementary school teacher for the Hastings Public Schools for 22 years, retiring in 1971. On December 28, 1950, she married Nicholas K. Noel and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1997. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Honorary Society For Teachers, Retired Teachers Association (local, state and national). She was a former member of Hastings Optimists, United Presbyterian Women and served as board member of YWCA.
Hilda K. Noel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Edward C. Beale and Nicholas K. Noel, daughter, Nancy Heeren, 1 brother, 1 sister and 1 grandson, 1 great grandson and 2 nieces.
