Hobart Arneson

Hastings resident Hobart E. Arneson, 68, died Friday, January 09, 2009 in Hastings.

Services will be Monday, January 12, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. Carl Rehwaldt officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, January 10, 2009; 5PM-9PM; Sunday, January 11, 2009; 1PM-9PM, with family present from 6PM-8PM and Monday, January 12, 2009; 9AM until service time. Memorials may be given to the family, memorial to be established at a later date.

Hobe was born August 24, 1940 in Red Cloud, Nebraska to Linton & Helen (Potter) Arneson. He graduated in 1958 from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, KS and married Theola Worman on January 15, 1961 in Red Cloud. He worked at IGA in Red Cloud and Phillipsburg, KS, then for Keebler in Colby, KS for many years before moving to Hastings in 1975 where he began working at DeMars Distributing until retirement. He was a member of Southern Hills Golf Course, 1st United Methodist Church, Eagles and American Legion.

Hobe was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Drake Koester; sister, Renee Laird; sister in law, Pat Arneson and a brother in law Greg Potter.
