Holly Munger

Juniata resident, Holly Dee Munger, 51, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, September 29, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, September 28, 2012; 9:00 A.M - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 4:00 P.M. -6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Viewing will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

Holly was born on October 2, 1960 to Kenneth L. & Betty L. (Silk) Pfeiffer at Hastings, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm near Trumbull, Nebraska and moved to Central City, Nebraska in 1974. She graduated from Central City High School in 1978. Holly married Scott C. Munger on August 15, 1982 in Hastings, Nebraska. They celebrated their 30 year wedding anniversary in August. She graduated from Hastings College in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Holly and her husband Scott own and operate Bernardo's Steak House in Hastings. She taught exercise classes at the YMCA for many years and loved to bowl with her friends. Holly had the best friends and family and will be missed dearly. Some of her special friends to mention are Mary Keogh, Colleen Pauley, Marylyn Hajny and her group of YaYa Sisters including Mary Keogh, Peg Welch, Judi Pavelka, Kathy Hansen, Ladena Thom, Carol Kucera and Phyllis Ziemba. Holly also met and appreciated many good friends while working at Bernardo's. Holly enjoyed traveling but most times the direction was west to Las Vegas.

Holly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elvin J. & Marguerite Pfeiffer and Delmar & Dorothy (Brown) Silk; and father, Kenneth in 1989; and sister-in-law, Mary Barg in 1999.
