Hope Zimmermann

Hastings resident Hope Elaine Zimmermann, 92, loving mother, devoted sister and caring friend, died peacefully while listening to a chapter in her favorite book while in hospice care. A wake was held in her honor at Harlan County Reservoir with friends and family. A private memorial with a few friends and family will be held at a later date.

Elaine was born and attended school in Northwest Missouri. She moved with her parents to Hastings, NE to work at the Naval Ammunition Depot. She married Robert J. Zimmermann in 1945. She was employed at the Hastings Regional Center for 43 years. After retirement, she was a foster grandparent. She worked at the Kingwood Plaza Office and was a volunteer at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest F. & Velma L. (Hull) Owens; husband, Robert J. Zimmermann; brother, Bob Owens; and sister, Donna Frederickson.
