Harvard resident , Howard H. Mullen, 85, of 1004 N. Adams, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Harvard Rest Haven.
Services will be Tuesday, April 19, 2005; 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Harvard, NE. With Rev. Dale Coates officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery with military rites provided by Harvard American Legion.
Mr. Mullen was born on Dec. 16, 1919 in Charleston, Mississippi to Ernest and Lula (Miriam) Mullen. He married LaVonne Pontine on Sept. 14, 1943. He served in the U.S. Air Force in a number of states during World War II from 1943-1949. He bought the Fitzke Service Station in Harvard, Nebraska at the end of his military service and ran it for 40 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Harvard and the Harvard American Legion.
Mr. Mullen was preceded in death by his parents and 2 step-brothers

VISITATION: Mon. 4-18-05; 9am-9pm with the family present 7pm-9pm at Butler-Volland Funeral Home
Tues. 4-19-05; 1 hour prior to services at the church
