Irene Schlick

March 5, 1909 — August 24, 2001

Irene Schlick, 92, of 419 Hillside Dr., Hastings, Nebraska died Friday, August 24, 2001 at Bryan LGH Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Tuesday, August 28, 2001; 1:15 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Irene Schlick was born March 5, 1909 in Clay County, Nebraska to Asa & Ethel (Waymire) Hart. She attended and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1927. She married Rilus Schlick on June 1, 1927 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1978. She was a farm wife and homemaker. She moved to Hastings in 1966 from the farm. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Garden Club in Hastings. She was a charter member of the Blue Bonnets Extension Club in Clay County and member of the Legion of Mary in Fairfield.

Irene Schlick was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rilus Schlick, son Paul Schlick, daughter Naomi Mertens, great granddaughter Megan Irene Skalka, 2 infant sons, sister Amanda Schlick and 2 brothers Howard Hart and Herman Hart.

Survivors include,
Daughter & Son-in-law: Jeanne & Marion Schutte - Grand Island, NE 13 Grandchildren 26 Great Grandchildren Sister: Mary Busboom - Fremont, NE Brother: Donald Hart - Onslow, IA

Memorial maybe given to St. Michael's Catholic Church or Crossroads Center

Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

VISITATIONS:
Mon. 8-27-01 1pm-9pm
Tue. 8-28-01 9am-11am and 1hour prior to service at church
