Irene Willmes

Hastings resident, Irene Louise Willmes, 88, of Perkins Pavilion, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion.

Rosary will be Sunday, January 13, 2008; 7:30 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 14, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Au officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, all in Roseland, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, January 12, 2008; 9 A.M.-9 P.M & Sunday, January 13, 2008; 1 P.M. -5 P.M. at the funeral home & 6:30 P.M -9 P.M. at the church & Monday, January 14, 2008; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice or Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Masses.

Mrs. Willmes was born February 11, 1919 in Holstein, Nebraska to Frank & Louise (Hoxmeier) Mangers. She attended school at Assumption & Holstein, Nebraska and lived in California from 1938-1942. She married Ernest Willmes on July 17, 1938 in California and he preceded her in death in 1966. They returned to the Roseland area in 1942 and farmed. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, pool and playing cards.

Mrs. Willmes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; brothers, Ralph Mangers, Richard Mangers, Ray Mangers and an infant brother, Marvin Paul Mangers; sister, Marcella Heuertz and a son-in-law, Richard Erthum.
