Irline Plummer

Grand Island resident, Irline L. Plummer, 84, of 105 W. Ashton Avenue, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Wedgewood Care Center, Grand Island, Nebraska after a long struggle with kidney disease and also a stroke.

Services will be Monday, April 27, 2009; 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Grand Island, Nebraska with Pastor Randy Fett officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2009; 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home, Hastings, Nebraska and Sunday, April 26, 2009; 1:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1515 S. Harrison St., Grand Island, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family.

Mrs. Plummer was born November 26, 1924 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Dick & Ella (Wilhelmi) Nietfeld. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1943. She worked at Wolbach's Department Store before her marriage to Fred R. Plummer on July 20, 1947 in Grand Island. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for their business, Plummer & Son's Iron & Metal. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Irline was an avid reader and liked to crochet and embroider. She loved to be around family and enjoyed all the family get togethers. She also loved music; and yellow and red roses. When her kids were at home, she loved to cook, attend their school activities and go to horse shows. They were 4-H Leaders for 11 years. She loved to know what all her grandkids were up to. Fred & Irline would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on July 20, 2009.

Mrs. Plummer was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Danny & Lynn, one granddaughter, Jaime Plummer and a brother, Glen.
