Irma Eigenberg

Hastings resident, Irma I. Eigenberg, 93, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at home at College View Assisted Living.

Services will be Friday, March 30, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 501 N. Burlington Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska 68901.

Irma was born January 6, 1919 to August and Lorena (Finnigsmier) Stulken on a farm in Adams County. She was baptized and confirmed at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. She attended country school and graduated from Hastings High School in 1936. She married Christian Edward Eigenberg January 6, 1940 at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings and moved to a farm south of Hastings where they were associated with agriculture for nearly 50 years. Irma was a homemaker and involved in church and community activities for many years. Irma moved to Good Samaritan Village in 1998 until she recently moved to College View Assisted Living. Irma had a love for people that was evidenced by family, church, community and club involvements. Most importantly, her faith in Jesus Christ defined her life and gave Irma and family confidence that her death was only a doorway into life with her eternal Friend.

Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Chris; infant son, Paul; brother, Leon; and sisters, Leta and Ola.
