Ivan Uden

Former Juniata resident, Ivan L. Uden, 81, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, October 6, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, rural Juniata. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Hour Ministries or Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with the family present 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Ivan was born July 2, 1936, in rural Juniata, Nebraska to August & Marie (Oelschlager) Uden. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. He was valedictorian and graduated from Kenesaw High School in 1954. Ivan married Sharon K. Muhleisen on August 23, 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Ivan farmed in the area for many years and was a member of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association. Ivan served on the Board of Directors for Juniata Farmers CO-OP Elevator (1973-1980). He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and served on many church committees, was past President of the Walther League, a youth group leader and served on the Christ Lutheran School Board. Ivan was a member of Lutheran Layman's League.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Verlene Slama.
