Jackie Hunt

Hastings resident, Jackie "Jack" L. Hunt, 71, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Committal Service with military rites by North Platte Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Honors Team will be held Friday, January 16, 2015; 11:00 A.M. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Bonnie McCord officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to VFW-Wauneta, Nebraska c/o Billy Hunt, 413 West 6th, Oshkosh, Nebraska 69154.

Jack was born May 14, 1943 in Brush, Colorado to Lee Hunt & Donna (McBride) Hunt Williams. He graduated from Wauneta High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from May 1963 until August 1966. During this time he proudly served a tour in Vietnam. When he returned from his military service he attended the Police Academy in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was married to Nadine Morrison from 1970 to 1987; they raised three children together. Jack was the Sheriff in Garden County for many years and a self employed truck driver for BMC in Columbus. He was a member of VFW,Wauneta, Nebraska and American Legion, Imperial, Nebraska.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
