Jacob Sittner, Jr

Hastings resident, Jacob Philip Sittner, Jr., 88, of 900 East 'B' #106, the Village Green, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at his home.

Services will be Thursday, February 3, 2005; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Sittner was born May 29, 1916 in Adams County, Nebraska to Jacob P. Sr. & Elizabeth (Lofing) Sittner. He graduated from Hastings High School and served in the United States Army during WWII from August 8,1941 to October 28,1945. He was part of the 9th Armored Engineering Battalion and the Ardennes Campaign. He married Alberta 'Bert' Schriner on December 25, 1942. He was manager of K-B Ice Cream before working for the City of Hastings and the City Health Department. He was a life long Hastings resident and a member of V.F.W., American Legion, U.C.T, and the Eagles.

Mr. Sittner was preceded in death by his parents; half brother, Adam Sock and a sister, Dorothy Rhodes.
