Jacqueline Ortegren

Hastings resident, Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Ortegren, 67, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home.

Services will be Friday, April 28, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to a fund in her honor to provide playground equipment for disabled children in Hastings, c/o Gail Ortegren, 919 East 3rd Street, Hastings, Nebraska 68901. Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2017; 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Jackie was born January 19, 1950 to Lloyd and Helen (Gould) Elliott in Rawlings, Wyoming. She graduated from Saratoga, Wyoming High School in 1968, and Hastings College in 1972. Jackie married Gail R. Ortegren on June 13, 1970 in Saratoga, Wyoming.

Jackie taught at Ayr Grade School and kindergarten at Wallace District 60 for 27 years before her retirement in 2011. She had a great love for children, especially babies.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bruce Elliott; and aunt and uncle, Norinne and Paul Hilliard.
