James Johnson

Hastings resident, James "Jim" E. Johnson, 62, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Mary Lanning Health Care.

Services will be Thursday, September 11, 2014; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 9, 2014. 1:00-5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, September 10, 2014; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Jim was born on November 24, 1951 in Hastings, Nebraska to Patricia A. (Maul) and Archie E. Johnson. He graduated from Upland High School in Upland, California. Jim served in the Army from November 10, 1971 to November 9, 1973. He was a baker at Metz Bakery for twenty-five years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and loved riding his motorcycle.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Archie Johnson.
