James P. Konen, Sr. 85, of 1203 E. Park #5 died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Rosary service will be Tuesday, June 12, 2001; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 13, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father James Meysenburg officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Assumption Cemetery, rural Roseland, Nebraska.
James P. Konen, Sr. was born June 1, 1916 in rural Adams County, Nebraska to John & Margaret (Weber) Konen. He served in the United States Army from September 11, 1941 to October 29, 1945 and was overseas for18 months. He married Norma J. (Roach) Revell on September 3, 1946 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He farmed with his father and later was a truck driver for H & M Equipment Company and Werner Construction Company. He was a life long Adams County resident and a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. He was a life member of the Juniata V.F.W. and American Legion Club in Hastings, Nebraska.
James P. Konen, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 son, Gary Revell.
