James Kopisch

Hastings resident, James L. "Jim" Kopisch, 64, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, in Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, August 24, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home Chapel, in Hastings with the Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, August 22, 2009; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.; Sunday, August 23, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M., and 1 hour prior to service on Monday, August 24, 2009 at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A memorial will be established.

James was born April 19, 1945 in Osage, Iowa to LeRoy & Leona (Benker) Kopisch. He attended Hastings High School and graduated in 1963. On August 10, 1974, he married Jan Penner, in Hastings, Nebraska. He was employed as a maintenance electrician with Hastings Irrigation & Pipe for 34 years before retiring. He was a member of the 4 Rivers Sportsman Club, and was a past member of the Skylark Flying Club, and Cottonwood Archery Club.

James was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Larry Kopisch, and Brother-in-law, Larry Lange.
