James Schmitt

Hastings resident, James J. "Jim" Schmitt, 85, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Premier Estates, Kenesaw, Nebraska.

Burial Office will be Thursday, January 18, 2018; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with The Very Reverend Katie Hargis officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Jim was born August 22, 1932 in Madison, Wisconsin and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He traveled six states selling for Bestform Foundations for 42 years. Jim loved people, dogs, horse racing, dancing, and gardening. He met Sally DeVaughn and they became soul mates in 1986.
