James Schurman

Hastings resident, James V. Schurman, 69, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, November 30, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to James V. Schurman Memorial Fund. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

James was born September 29, 1948, and raised in Franklin, Nebraska to Victor & Elsie Althea (Werrebroeck) Schurman. He graduated from Franklin High School. James served with the U.S. Navy.

James farmed in the area for many years. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Good Sam's Camping Club.

James was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Douglas Gene Schurman.
