James Sorenson

Hastings resident James "Jim" P. Sorenson passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 9, 2015; 2:00 P.M. with military rites at the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw with Pastor Paul Duffy officiating. Memorials may be given to the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Jim was born October 24, 1948 in Hastings, Nebraska to Warren and Edna (Polenske) Sorenson. He attended Zion Lutheran School and Hastings High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served on board the USS Forrestal during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Jim worked many years in the plumbing business in Brooklyn, New York before moving back to Nebraska. He was employed in the plumbing department at Menards.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
