James Whittaker

Hastings resident, James F. 'Frank' Whittaker,87, of Perkins Pavilion, died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Perkins Pavilion.

Graveside service and burial will be Wednesday, August 17, 2005; 3:00 P.M. at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska, with Pastor Randy Madison officiating.

Mr. Whittaker was born October 3, 1917 in Wilcox, Nebraska to James E. & Leah F. (West) Whittaker. He graduated from high school and attended college for 2 years. He married Gladys Violet Olga Helander on October 3, 1941 in McAllen, Texas and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2003. He was an engineer and charter employee of the original Hughes Aircraft Company, in Tucson, Arizona, retiring after 30+ years. He was a member and past treasurer at Christian Missionary Alliance Church for 33 years and organized and served as chairman for Boys Brigade, a Christian boys club for 8 years, all in Tucson, Arizona. They moved from Tucson to Hastings, Nebraska in 2001. His Hobbies were woodworking and electronics.

Mr. Whittaker was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Olga; a daughter, Linda Pratt; a brother, Earl Whittaker and four sisters; Io Smith, Margie Daylong, Grayce Fridstrom and Mary Baldridge.

Memorial may be given to Evangelical Free Church

VISITATION: Tue. 8-16-05; with family present 7pm-8pm
