Janice Callan

Hastings resident, Janice K. Callan, 74, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Service is 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 26, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Marcus Mackay officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 with family present 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Janice was born on November 14, 1943 to Frank and Violet (Kelley) Deeds in Grand Island, Nebraska.  In 1957 they moved to Hastings and Janice graduated from Hastings High School and Hastings Beauty Academy. After graduating, she was an instructor at Hastings Beauty Academy.   She married Harold “Cal” Callan in 1974. She was a member and past treasurer of the National Hairdressers Association. Janice was co-owner of El Fiesta and owned and operated La Petite until 1998.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
