Jeanette May "Jeanie" Sonder

Juniata resident Jeanette May “Jeanie” Sonder, 76, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at The Kensington, Hastings, NE.    

Visitation will be 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with family present 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 27, at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings. Interment in Verdigre, NE is still pending for a later date in the spring or summer. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Jeanie was born November 23, 1947, to Wilber C. and Lavella (Parson) Lobbins, in Omaha, NE. Jeanie married her husband, Archie Sonder on May 13, 1972, at Grace United Methodist Church, in Hastings, NE. Jeanie worked at Walmart in Hastings for 20+ years until her retirement. She loved camping with Archie in their motorhome, fishing, was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching game shows, and adored her beloved cats, Punker and Tinker.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Lavella Lobbins; husband, Archie Sonder; brother, Henry Lobbins; and sister, Earleen Kelly.  

Survived by her children, Mike Sonder, Kathy Docken, Jeff Sonder (Vivian), and Sherrie Tordoff (Jeff); sister, Margaret Hassman; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
