Hastings resident, Jeems A. Robinson, 80, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home.
Rosary will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 29, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 28, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Jeems was born on May 16, 1933 in Franklin County, Nebraska to John Weston & Margaret (Owens) Robinson. He attended school in Franklin and graduated from Chaffey College in Ontario, California with a Degree in Electronics. Jeems served with the U.S. Army from January 24, 1951 until January 23, 1954 and was stationed in Germany and Korea. He married Bonnie Frye on September 5, 1952; she preceded him in death on April 24, 1991. Jeems married Debra Ejor on October 4, 1995 in Hastings. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. Jeems was a member of V.F.W. Post 1346, AARP, NARFE, and was the past President State of Nebraska American Postal Workers Union AFL - CIO for many years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Jeems was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bonnie Robinson; daughter, Linda Hammond; and brother, David Robinson.
