Jerald Johnson

Hastings resident, Jerald R. Johnson, 59, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at his residence.

Memorial services will be Thursday, April 29, 2010; 7:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will be Friday, April 30, 2010; 2:00 P.M. in Cottonwood Cemetery, Burwell, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.

Jerald was born November 20, 1950 in Burwell, Nebraska to Chester & Jessie M. (Butcher) Johnson. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1969. On May 27, 1971 he married Opal Ann Thomas, and they later divorced. He worked for Dutton Lainson from 1978 until 1999.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randall Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Schmidt; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
