Jerry Fischer

Hastings resident, Jerry L. Fischer, 59, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his residence.

Memorial services will be Monday, May 10, 2010; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tony Anderson officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.

Jerry was born October 24, 1950 in Burke, South Dakota to Gerhart & Libby Marie (Snell) Fischer. He attended Hastings High School. On November 19, 1969 he entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was honorable discharged on October 23, 1971. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 10 years and then went to work for the Hastings Regional Center for 20 years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
